- Tactical Retailer “New 9’s”
Tactical Retailer Magazine has included the PD10 in its line up of New 9’s that most gun shops don’t have in stock yet. Specifically, the article is focused on “Micro 9mms” that are new to the market or planned to be released soon. Looking at the pistols listed, it appears that the PD10 would be the thinnest of the firearms. Thin-ness is a key design feature of the Avidity Arms handgun. Firearms from Savage, Staccato and a not-yet-released model from Lionheart Industries are also included.
The Tactical Retailer piece calls out the PD10’s unique CLAW emergency manipulation features, which are just part of its “Designed for Defense” highlight list. While any small gun that enters the market is going to be consider an armed for concealed carry, many micro-9’s suffer from over-compromising shootability for size. The balance of many attributes is the key to any firearms appropriateness for defensive use. Avidity Arms believes that their first pistol is the best balance of carryability, concealability, weright, capacity & shootability for those who both carry and practice with their defensive handgun.
“Far too often, students in our defensive shooting classes show up wearing a ‘micro-9’, but want to switch to a full size gun to shoot in the class,” says PD10 Designer Rob Pincus, “My expectation is that those who carry a PD10 will actually train with their carry gun because it’s the right combination of easy enough to carry and easy enough to shoot.”
The first publication of its kind, Tactical Retailer serves as the primary source of news and information compiled specifically for businesses that cater to the “black gun” consumer. With reports on upcoming AR-style rifles, tactical shotguns, semi-auto handguns and all the products and accessories that a tactical shooter demands — as well as critical advice on building a better operation to stay ahead of the competition — Tactical Retailer delivers information the tactical business needs to succeed

- PD10 Unboxing by Sapper Gentleman
Sapper Gentleman has posted a PD10 Unboxing video with his thoughts on the features and design of the PD10. Sapper Gentleman has trained with Rob Pincus and studied the thought process behind the pistol’s design. He is able to explain many of the features in great detail.
The PD10 is designed for defensive carry. It takes cues from many other popular pistols, while still being a distinct handgun with its own feel. This is especially true in regard to the “full size grip” on a very slim mid-sized gun. Sapper Gentleman does a great job of showing and discussing how various aspects affect the shootability of the Avidity Arms PD10.
Sapper Gentleman’s channel is full of tips and gear reviews, many of which are specifically aimed at new shooters or those new to defensive firearms training.
- Handgun Hero adds the PD10 !
Handgun Hero offers a quick and easy way for you to compare the statistics of popular handgun models. They offer multiple angle visual references and an intuitive interface. While the raw numbers don’t tell you anything about comfort, shootability or other important aspects, the data they offer can help you understand how different firearms stack up against one another objectively.
The PD10 is listed under the Avidity Arms brand, all together they have over SEVENTY Manufacturers represented. You can compare the PD10 to hundreds of handguns at their website! We couldn’t resist comparing it to the FK BRNO PSD, another handgun design that Rob Pincus contributed to.
From Handgun Hero:
“HandgunHero was built after constantly searching Google Images for things like “Glock 17 vs Glock 19” or “Ruger GP100 vs SP101 size comparison” and not seeing useful side-by-side comparison charts.
Whenever a new handgun was released or a youtube personality made a video about a handgun, I would search online for images or charts to get a feel for it’s size compared to models I’m familiar with.
After a lot of searching but not finding, I realized this was something I could build for myself as well as firearm enthusiasts. So here you go – I hope you find it useful. “

- PD10 Holsters in Shooting Illustrated
Shooting Illustrated recently took a look at the PD10 Holsters that are already available from several high quality sources.
“Avidity Arms, makers of the long awaited PD10 handgun is partnering up with a few select holster companies in order to support this new pistol with holster choices right from the start.”
Shooting Illustrated StaffFar too often, firearms manufacturers release models intended for defensive use that have little to no holster support. Avidity Arms collaborated with top companies to ensure that wouldn’t be the case with their first pistol. Leather, plastic and hybrid options are currently available from JM4 Tactical, G-Code and Tacrig. Each company offers multiple carrying options that cover the full range of carrying positions and styles to suit the needs of people who actually carry, and practice with, their pistols. Inside the waist band (including some centerline, or “appendix”, options), and outside the waistband styles are available from all three companies.

After last week’s podcast, the gun community was anxious to see Michael Bane’s full PD10 review and range report. The Triggered Episode featuring the new Avidity Arms pistol dropped yesterday and has much more detail on the pistol’s features and Bane’s experiences on the range.
Bane also shows off a couple of holsters for the PD10 and explains what he likes about both the G-Code and JM4 offerings.“I look forward to getting my personal PD10, because I do really like the gun. I like the way it handles; I like the way it shoots The net net, as it were, is that Avidity delivered exactly what it said it would deliver, albeit not on the optimistic time frame they envisioned. - Bearing Arms on the PD10
John Petrolino has written an article for Bearing Arms on the the PD10.
“There’s new and exciting gear always hitting the market when it comes to gun stuff, especially around the annual SHOT Show. It’s not everyday though that the perennially almost-to-be-released PD10 designed by Rob Pincus and manufactured by Avidity Arms, actually hits the market. I had a chance to catch up with Pincus at the 2023 SHOT Show and subsequent to that, we chatted more about his magnum opus over a phone interview.”
The Article in Bearing Arms on the PD10 includes Petrolino’s first impressions on the Avidity Arms pistol, designed for concealed carry, as well as quotes from Pincus and a link to a phone conversation that the two men had a couple of weeks after SHOT Show.
Petrolino has been writing about firearms, gun rights and related issues for many years and is the author of Decoding Firearms. BearingArms is one of the most respected gun community focused websites, and is operated by Townhall Media, a Salem company.
- Concealedcarry.com looks at the PD10
In this video, Riley Bowman of Concealedcarry.com looks at the PD10 with Rob Pincus at SHOT Show 2023. Riley has been watching the development of the Avidity Arms pistol for years and handled pre-production examples at previous industry events. Riley has a great deal of experience with handguns for both competition and defensive carry and jokingly refers to the PD10 as “former vaporware”.
It is a great discussion with about the release of the PD10, and includes some insight into aspects of the design and how consumers can get their hands on one. Retailers wanting more information can fill out a dealer inquiry form with Avidity Arms, or contact their account manager at Davidson’s.
