JSD Supply now has 3DPD10 Parts Kits for private gun makers!
Avidity Arms recently released an optimized frame file of their first production pistol, the PD10, to the 3D Printing “GunCad” Community. The file can be downloaded for free at DefCad.com. The 3DPD10 is not simply the same design file used for injection molding the production gun. It has been changed in key areas and tested by a team of experienced GunCad Community Members, including Mr. Snow, Danny Meatballs, Krrawn and BitPlumb.
Avidity Arms is the first firearms manufacturer to release a current production frame file for Private Gun Making. Rob Pincus talked about why the company has taken this step during an interview at SHOT Show 2023. He also talked with a Bloomberg News Podcast in late 2022. Pincus hopes that more manufacturers will embrace the private gun making community in the future.
The 3DPD10 Parts Kit includes all of the parts necessary for the hobby gun maker to complete their build and it is currently only available from JSD Supply, a long trusted source for gun making parts & supplies. Instructions for building and a PDF Copy of the pistol manual is included with the file download.
Great idea, but I got my kit and how the heck do you install the catch spring? Does the curved part or the strait part go into the Catch? How does the other end get anchored?
The curve goes down, and creates pressure back against the frame for the upper part of the catch!
